Swim Lessons provide important life skills that could save a life, and will benefit you for a lifetime. All YMCA swim instructors are nationally certified and are trained in CPR, AED, First Aid and Oxygen Administration.
Program helps children age 6 months - three years explore and adjust to a water environment with their parents. Both parent and child enter the water.
Introduction to water safety and first time swim lesson class. Children will learn correct body position, kicking, arm strokes, and will become comfortable with face in the water and blowing bubbles.
Learning to swim without assistance. Comfortable doing front and back float. Able to jump from side of pool into water without assistance.
Conducted with minimal or no otation and features continued development of swimming skills and endurance.
Able to swim the width of the indoor pool with rotary breathing. Able to swim backstroke for the width of the indoor pool. Able to tread water for 30 seconds.
Progressive: FISH/FLYING FISH
Must swim freestyle and backstroke for 25 yards. Have basic diving skills.
Designed to give participants individual attention. Custom curriculum is created to help achieve goals.
